The variety is the result of a natural crossing of Mollar Cano and Palomino. The clusters are medium, conical, elongated, and range from medium density to loose. The berries have a black-reddish-pink hue.
The plant possesses good resistance to drought, heat, and grey mold, with moderate susceptibility to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and esca. In volcanic soils, it is often cultivated in special pits protected by stone walls.
The grapes are used to create a wide range of wines, often by the carbonic maceration method. The finished product is distinguished by aromas of red berries, cherry, raspberry, as well as earthy, smoky shades and notes of black pepper.
