Variety description

The variety was obtained by crossing the Bronner variety and the breeding line Mtp 3179-90-7, which contains genetic material from Vitis rotundifolia. The grapes have a mid or mid-late maturity period, comparable to the Merlot variety. The vines possess great vigor and semi-erect shoots. Clusters are small or medium, conical in shape, and dense or very dense. Berries are small, slightly oval, dark blue in color, and covered with a thick waxy bloom.
The variety possesses polygenic resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew, partial resistance to black rot, and good tolerance to grey mold. It is suitable for creating fruity red wines with fine tannins and intense color, as well as for the production of rosé wines. The sugar content at maturity is equivalent to the Cabernet Franc variety, and the acidity level is consistently high.
