The variety is distinguished by late bud break and a short vegetative period with rapid ripening. The vine possesses high growth vigor and forms small, compact clusters. The small berries have a thick skin, blue-black color with abundant bloom, and juicy flesh.
The plant is sensitive to grey mold and downy mildew, therefore it prefers well-ventilated sites and stony soils. The wine grape variety is used in winemaking to create structured wines with soft tannins, tones of black fruits, spices, cocoa, and notes of pepper.
