The variety is characterized by vigorous growth and a semi-erect vine habit. Budburst is early. The plant is hardy, adapts well to flat and sloping soils, and can be cultivated with long cane pruning, but it shows sensitivity to grey mold.

Bunches are medium-sized or slightly larger, cylindro-conical, and moderately compact. Berries are ellipsoid, medium-sized, with thick dark-blue-black skin and juicy, soft pulp with a simple flavor. The variety belongs to the second ripening epoch.

A wine grape variety for the production of intensely bright red wines with high tannin content and good acidity. In its youth, the wine can be harsh, yet it possesses aging potential and an aromatic profile with notes of cherry, raspberry, and blackberry.
