Sheegene-20
ActiveVitis vinifera L. · Common grape vine
TIMOTHY SHEEHAN
10 August 2026
The variety is a natural hybrid of Alfrocheiro and Patorra. The crop is characterized by early budbreak and a short ripening cycle, which makes it sensitive to late spring frosts. Resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew is low.
The leaves of the variety are rounded, five-lobed, and deeply incised. The bunches are small, cylindro-conical, and of medium density. The berries are small, dark blue in color with thick skin and juicy flesh.
The variety is distinguished by high but unstable yields, requiring control to maintain wine quality. The produce has good acidity, velvety tannins, and aromas of cherry, raspberry, herbs, and mint.
