The variety is genetically distinct and does not belong to the Muscat family, despite the similarity in names. Depending on climatic conditions, it belongs to the early or mid-season maturity group. The vines have medium vigor.

The plant is considered demanding in terms of care and delicate. The variety has high sensitivity to grey mold, powdery mildew, mite infestations, and is prone to flower abortion and millerandage. The berries have thin skin, are characterized by a herbaceous-muscat flavor, and the ability to rapidly accumulate sugars with moderate acidity.

The main purpose is the production of high-quality wines. In France, the variety is used as an auxiliary component in blends of sweet and dry white wines; in Australia, it is used to create fortified wines. It is also suitable for the production of grape juices.
