The variety was obtained as a result of a breeding program in Murcia, Spain. It belongs to the group of white hybrids that have the Monastrell variety in their pedigree. Its purpose is for use as technical raw material for winemaking.

Studies of product quality note the high aromatic potential of MT103; wines made from it are characterized by a fresh fruity aroma due to the content of esters, acids, and alcohols. At the time of harvest, the sugar level was less than 20 Brix. Data on the maturity group and morphological characteristics of the plant are absent in open publications.
