Sheegene-20
ActiveVitis vinifera L. · Common grape vine
TIMOTHY SHEEHAN
10 August 2026
The variety belongs to wine grape types. The berries have a pinkish-gray or purple skin hue, and the bunches are medium-sized. The plant is characterized by high vigor and best manifests its qualities in high-altitude conditions at 600–700 meters, where temperature fluctuations contribute to the preservation of aromatic properties.
The variety is considered sensitive and difficult to grow, prone to shatter (coulure) and uneven ripening. It is sensitive to adverse weather conditions, particularly cold and precipitation, and therefore requires careful agrotechnical pruning to control yields.
Wines made from this variety possess an intense aroma with notes of rose, jasmine, citrus zest, lychee, and violets. A characteristic feature is the bright acidity, light to medium body, and elegant structure of the finished drink.
