Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety belongs to indigenous European species. The bushes are vigorous. The period from bud burst to berry maturity lasts from 127 to 157 days with a sum of active temperatures of 2650–3100°С. Leaves are medium, rounded or elongated, with dense felt-like pubescence on the underside. Berries are small, with thick skin and abundant waxy bloom.

The variety is susceptible to major fungal diseases of grapes, such as downy mildew and powdery mildew. Yield is highly dependent on growing conditions, ranging from 60–70 c/ha in arid conditions to 120–200 c/ha with irrigation. The crop prefers well-drained, often calcareous soils and requires a large amount of solar heat for full maturation.

Used exclusively for wine production. The grapes provide juice with a high tannin content, which allows for the creation of intense wines with aging potential. The variety is often used in blends to give the drink structure and characteristic aromas of dark berries, spices, leather, and earthy notes.
