Variety description

The variety is mid-late ripening. Leaves are round, predominantly five-lobed, weakly to moderately dissected. Clusters are small to medium, conical, often with a wing, and dense. Berries are medium, round or slightly oval, dark blue in color with a heavy waxy bloom.

It possesses good winter hardiness, while being sensitive to downy mildew and gray mold due to the thin skin of the berries and the density of the clusters. Yield is above average. The variety is a natural hybrid of the Heunisch Weiss variety and an unknown parent.

Used exclusively in winemaking. Wines are characterized as light and fruity, with moderate color and specific spicy or bittersweet notes.
