Variety description

The variety was obtained in 2000 by crossing the MTB 3082-1-42 form and the Regent variety. The genetic line includes traits of Vitis vinifera and resistant species, due to which the variety belongs to the PIWI category and is permitted for use in the production of wines with a protected designation of origin.

The bushes are characterized by strong growth with a vertical shoot orientation and require the use of a trellis system. The yield of the variety is estimated as above average.

The plant possesses high resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and grey mold, which is due to the presence of specific resistance loci Run1, Ren3, Ren9, Rpv1, and Rpv3.1.

Wine from this variety possesses a complex flavor and aroma profile with fruity and spicy notes, balanced acidity, and high tannin content.
