The variety originates from the Aragon region and is known by the historical name Crespiello. It is a wine grape variety; the vine has high vigor and requires careful pruning. The plant is well adapted to poor calcareous soils and is resistant to drought, downy mildew, and powdery mildew.

The grape clusters contain large berries with thick skins. Wines made from VIDADILLO are characterized by their structure, potential for long aging, and an aromatic profile with notes of forest berries, plum, violet, licorice, spices, as well as balsamic and mineral nuances.
