The Veritage (VIVC 27282) variety was obtained by crossing the varieties Merzling and We 73-45-84. The plant has vigorous growth and an upright shoot development habit. The clusters are medium-sized and loose, and the berries are small or medium, covered with a thick skin.

This variety is characterized by high resistance to downy mildew and good resistance to powdery mildew. Due to the loose structure of the clusters and the tough berry skin, the variety shows high resistance to gray mold. Its purpose is the production of full-bodied white wines with fruity notes.

There is a separate American variety under the same name (T.P. 1-1-12), bred by Tom Plocher. It has a different genetic origin and is a cold-hardy form adapted for regions with harsh winters.
