The variety consists of spontaneous seedlings discovered in old or abandoned vineyards. It is currently being actively researched and restored as an autochthonous grape variety characteristic of the Navarre region in Spain.

The purpose of the variety is the production of white wines. Detailed agronomic characteristics, including maturity group, growth parameters, and disease resistance, are currently not described in open publications due to the crop's status as a variety under restoration.
