The vine has weak to moderate vigor and is undemanding regarding soil. The variety shows high sensitivity to fungal diseases, especially downy mildew. The leaf is medium-sized, five-lobed, with slight pubescence on the underside; the flower is hermaphroditic.
Clusters are medium-sized, conical in shape, often winged, and vary in density. Berries are medium, round, blue-black in color, with a moderately thick skin and juicy pulp.
Wines from this variety possess a deep ruby color, moderate alcohol content, low acidity, and soft tannins. Fruit notes of cherry, blackberry, and plum with hints of almond dominate the aroma and taste. Wines are generally recommended for consumption in their youth.
