The variety is the result of crossing Gamaret and Bronner. It belongs to the late-ripening category, reaching technological maturity at the same time as Pinot Noir. Shoots have medium to above-average vigor, and the flower is hermaphroditic.
Clusters have a loose structure, are medium-sized, and cylindrical or cylindrical-conical in shape. Berries are small, round, and dark blue, almost black in color with a pronounced bloom. The yield of the variety is about 80–100 c/ha.
The variety is characterized by high resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and Botrytis cinerea, which allows for a significant reduction in the number of fungicide treatments. The resulting wine has a deep red color, good structure, and aromatic notes of black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, black pepper, and cloves.
