Variety description

The variety is native to the Dão region in Portugal. Vines have medium vigor and moderate yields. The variety is characterized by relatively early bud burst and early ripening, preferring cool or moderate climates.

A unique feature of the grape is its ability to increase acidity levels as sugar accumulates; however, the variety is prone to rapid oxidation, which requires caution during winemaking. Its wines are distinguished by their full body, complex structure, and aromas of citrus, apple, and white flowers.
