The variety is genetically identical to the base variety Gouveio, is included in the National Catalogue of Grape Varieties of Portugal, and is intended exclusively for wine production.
The plant is a vigorous vine with an early maturity period and medium yield. The variety can show sensitivity to fungal diseases such as powdery mildew and grey mold, thus requiring agrotechnical control.
