Variety description

The variety is identical to Cornalin d'Aoste and was obtained as a result of a natural cross between Cornalin du Valais and an unknown variety. The plant is characterized by vigorous vine growth; young shoots have heavy tomentum, and young leaves have a yellowish color with bronze spots. Clusters are medium or long, dense, with round blue-black berries.

The variety is demanding regarding growing conditions, requiring warm and sunny sites, and exhibits high susceptibility to grey mold and berry shriveling. With proper care, it provides regular high yields. It is used for the production of wines with a pronounced tannic structure and acidity, possessing notes of wild berries, earthy and spicy undertones.
