The Hod variety is a seedless table grape created by breeders at the Volcani Center for commercial use. As part of the breeding work, special attention is paid to the formation of loose-structured clusters that possess increased transportability, as well as achieving large berry size.
Priority qualities of the variety are the optimization of ripening periods, high berry firmness, increased sugar content, and the presence of specific aromatic characteristics. Scientific work on the creation of such varieties includes the use of biotechnology methods to increase resistance to fungal diseases.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
