The variety is a complex interspecific hybrid obtained from crossing Seibel 7053 and Riesling. The name comes from the Latin word meaning "winter-hardy." The vines are characterized by medium to above-average vigor, with bisexual flowers. The bunches are medium-sized, cylindrical-conical in shape, and characterized by density.

The berries are small or medium, round in shape, colored light green with a pink hue; the skin is thin. The variety belongs to the medium-late or late maturity group; the harvest period falls between the end of September and the first half of October.

The grape has good resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew, although it requires preventive treatments in unfavorable seasons. Wines from this variety are valued for their high extract, expressive acidity close to Riesling, and rich fruity aroma with hints of pineapple and mango.
