Klarnica is a wine grape variety traditionally grown in Slovenia. The variety belongs to the species Vitis vinifera and is not the result of modern breeding, having been preserved by local winegrowers for decades.
The plant has hermaphroditic flowers. The leaves are medium-sized, round, deeply lobed, with a three- or five-lobed structure and slight cobwebby pubescence on the underside. The petiolar sinus is open, of the vaulted or sagittate type.
The variety ripens in the second half of September. Due to its status as a rare and endangered variety, research and restoration efforts are being conducted by the Selection and Nursery Center in Vrhpolje.
