Variety description

The variety is a vigorous rootstock with a vegetation period of about 180 days. It possesses high resistance to the root form of phylloxera and fungal diseases, and medium resistance to the leaf form of phylloxera. It is characterized by high drought tolerance and the ability to tolerate soils with a carbonate content of up to 35%.

Shoots are ribbed with red stripes and long internodes. Leaves are large, leathery, and three-lobed. Flowers are functionally female. Clusters are small and loose; berries are small, black with a bluish tint. Rooting ability is satisfactory; callusing is used to improve the yield of cuttings.

Varieties grafted onto this rootstock show increased growth, and increased cluster and berry weight. On excessively fertile soils, the variety can provoke excessive growth, hindering cane maturation and berry coloration, and can also lead to a slight delay in harvest ripening.
