The Klešćec Zeleni variety, also known by the names Klešćec bijeli or Klešćec, is autochthonous to the territory of modern-day Croatia. Genetic SSR analysis confirmed its uniqueness, refuting erroneous assumptions regarding a relationship with the Ortlieber and Knipperlé varieties.

The plant belongs to the category of wine grape varieties and is used for the production of white wines. In official catalogs, the variety is often mentioned alongside the Klešćec Žuti, Bela Kavka, and Belina Drobna varieties. Currently, attempts are being made to revive the culture in specific regions, such as Kalnik.

Detailed agrotechnical data, including precise ripening dates, yield parameters, and disease resistance, are virtually absent in available publications.
