The variety is a hybrid of the Afus Ali and Csaba Gyöngye varieties. The berries possess a pleasant muscat aroma, the purpose of the variety is primarily table, and to a lesser extent, it is used for wine production or for decorative purposes.

The plant belongs to early-ripening varieties. It is characterized by susceptibility to downy mildew and bunch rot. The variety is known under many synonyms, including Reine des Vignes, Regina dei Vigneti, Kraljica Vinograda, and Queen of the Vineyards.

The variety was actively used in breeding work as a parent form for the development of such varieties as Cardinal, Perlette, and Palatina.
