Variety description

The variety is a hybrid of the grape Shiroka Melnishka Loza and the Valdiguié variety. The plant's bushes are vigorous. The bunches have a cylindrical-conical shape, an average weight of about 197 grams, and vary from semi-compact to compact. The berries are medium-large, oval, with a dark blue, almost black skin.

The variety is mid-season, ripening at the end of September. It possesses relative resistance to gray mold and winter temperatures down to -17°С, however, it is less resistant to drought compared to the parent variety. Upon reaching technological maturity, the sugar content is 21–23%, acidity 6–7 g/l.

Wine from this variety has a deep ruby color and characteristic aromas of cherry, wild berries, dried fruits with possible notes of herbs and smoke. It is cultivated primarily in the Struma River valley in Bulgaria.
