Variety description

The variety is a pink-berried mutation of the white Melon de Bourgogne variety. The clusters and berries are small in size; the color of the berries at maturity varies from red to purple.

The plant has an upright growth habit and belongs to the early maturity group, ripening one week after the Chasselas variety. In terms of productivity, the variety is comparable to the original Melon.

The variety is sensitive to downy mildew and less susceptible to powdery mildew and grey mold. In winemaking, it is used to create fresh wines with floral aromas; however, the intensity of the berry color is insufficient for the production of red wines.
