Variety description

10 August 2026

The vines are characterized by medium vigor. The leaves are large, rounded, almost entire or weakly dissected, with weak cobwebby pubescence on the underside. Bunches are small or medium, dense or very dense, cylindroconical or cylindrical in shape, often winged. Berries are small or medium, round, yellowish-green in color, covered with a waxy bloom.

The variety possesses good frost resistance, however, it is sensitive to downy mildew and gray mold with moderate susceptibility to powdery mildew and Eutypa dieback. Yield is 90–120 c/ha. Due to low bud fertility at the base of the vine, the variety requires short or moderately long pruning.

Wines from Melon are distinguished by high acidity, minerality, and a neutral aromatic profile. The variety is well-suited for aging on lees.
