The variety was obtained as a result of crossing the Baroque and Cot varieties, the genetic origin has been confirmed by DNA analysis. The name of the variety translates from the Basque language as "blood".
This is a wine grape variety used to produce red, colored, and fruity wines. The variety is rare, its plantings occupy extremely insignificant areas.
