The variety is cultivated primarily on the Ionian Islands, in particular on Zakynthos. It is a white grape used for the production of single-varietal dry wines, as well as being part of the traditional local Verdea blend.
Wines from this variety possess an elegant profile with aromas of pear, peach, jasmine, and citrus, characterized by refreshing acidity and medium body. Agronomic data for the variety are poorly systematized due to its highly localized distribution.
