The variety belongs to the species Vitis vinifera. The letter "B." in the name indicates the white, yellow-green color of the berry skin. The use of this variety is permitted in accordance with the regulations for the production of wines with protected designation of origin (DOP/IGP) and certain categories of sparkling wines.
