The Peloursin variety is characterized by vigorous growth and dense foliage formation. The leaf is rounded, deeply lobed, and five-lobed. Clusters are medium, conical or cylindrical-conical, distinguished by very high density. Berries are medium, round, dark blue, almost black in color, and covered with a thick waxy bloom. The flesh is fleshy-juicy, and the skin is of medium thickness.

The variety is susceptible to major fungal diseases, including downy mildew and various types of rot. Data on winter hardiness are contradictory; the tolerance limit is estimated in the range of -15…-18°C. Due to the high skin-to-juice ratio, the variety imparts pronounced tannins and a complex aromatic bouquet to wines, and it is used primarily in blends.
