Garden strawberry inflorescence stalks form inflorescences and are typically located at or below the leaf level, which distinguishes the crop from wild strawberries. The strength and length of the inflorescence stalks directly determine market quality: stalks that are too short lead to berries contacting the soil, increasing the risk of contamination and rot infection.

During variety testing, the number of inflorescence stalks per plant is evaluated, with a productive level considered to be 10 or more, as well as the number of flowers per stalk, which increases from 5–7 in young plants to 15–30 in mature ones. Upright inflorescence stalks are preferred to facilitate harvesting.

Agrotechnical management includes thinning of inflorescence stalks to enhance the vegetative development of young plants and controlling planting depth, as burying the growing point hinders their formation.
