Basil yield is measured by the mass of fresh-cut shoots harvested at a height of 5–8 cm from the base. In open field conditions, values typically vary from 1.7 to 4.3 kg/m², while in protected ground, productivity ranges from 2 to 6.2 kg/m², reaching 8–10 kg/m² in intensive farming systems.

Key factors for productivity include plant stand density, which is optimally 25 plants per 1 m², and timing of harvest. The maximum volume of high-quality green mass is formed during the budding stage, before the onset of mass flowering, as delayed harvesting leads to leaf coarsening and loss of marketability.

Yield indicators are significantly influenced by temperature and light conditions: temperatures below 12–15°C slow growth and reduce harvest potential. The difference in productivity of the same variety when changing growing conditions from open field to protected ground can reach 50%.
