The technology involves using containers with a volume of at least 19 liters with mandatory drainage to ensure an optimal root zone volume. The fibrous root system of basil adapts well to such conditions, and regular pinching of the tops promotes bushiness, prevents premature flowering, and helps maintain high growth intensity when grown in multi-tier systems.
