The plant reaches a height of 1.2–1.5 m with a crown width of about 0.6 m. In spring, the foliage has a bright pink or red-orange hue, in summer it becomes purple-red or red-brown, and in autumn it turns bright red and orange tones.
Flowering occurs in May with small yellow flowers, followed by the formation of inedible red or orange-red fruits. The shrub is frost-resistant, drought-tolerant, and well-tolerates urban conditions and pruning.
The variety is light-loving: in sunny areas the coloration manifests most intensely, whereas in shade the leaves may turn green. The plant prefers well-drained soils and is used for creating hedges, borders, and landscape compositions.
