The shrub has a spreading, cushion-shaped or nest-like crown with long, curved, drooping shoots. The crown diameter of an adult plant is 1.5–2 m. The plant is slow-growing, characterized by high winter hardiness down to -34°C and resistance to diseases.
Small leaves are bright yellow in summer and may turn green in the shade. Flowering occurs in May–June with small pale yellow flowers. Numerous oblong inedible red fruits ripen in autumn and remain on the branches until spring.
The variety is light-loving and prefers well-drained, fresh, moist soils. It tolerates shearing and rejuvenating pruning well. Used in landscape design for creating hedges, borders, decorating rock gardens, and container cultivation.
