Verde da taglio Lucchese is a local Tuscan chard ecotype, historically distributed in the provinces of Lucca, Pisa, and Livorno. The plant has a rosette habit and reaches a height of 20–30 cm.

The leaves of the variety have a saturated green color, the petioles are light-colored, 2–4 cm wide. The variety is adapted to fertile soils and is characterized by the ability to actively regrow after cutting, which makes it convenient for multiple harvests.
