The variety belongs to the "cutting chard" type, intended for multiple harvests of young leaves that regrow after cutting. In terms of morphological characteristics, the variety resembles spinach: leaf length is 15–25 cm, width is 1–2 cm. The plant has thin petioles.

The variety is considered early and traditional for the European region, often mentioned as a synonym for varieties of the "Groene Gewone", "Erbette", or "Verde da taglio" groups. It is intended for cultivation in the open field to obtain "baby leaf" greens. The variety may show sensitivity to early bolting.
