Variety description

10 August 2026

A variety of Italian origin with local distribution. Related forms also exist, such as the Corsican variety Ghjentile and the hybrid Gentile di S. Bartolomeo.

The fruits of the variety are traditionally used in cooking, in particular, for the preparation of flour. Scientific studies of the variety address issues of its biochemical composition, including the content of antioxidants and catechins, as well as the study of the plant's response to fungal diseases.
