Marrone dei Monti Cimini unites several cultivars, such as Marrone fiorentino and Marrone primaticcio. The fruits of this group are characterized by high quality: they are usually round-globular in shape, with 1-2 pieces in a spiny burr. The flesh is sweet, easy to peel, and has creamy-floral notes.

The harvest is collected from mid-September to November. The plants are cultivated at altitudes from 350 to 850 meters above sea level. The fruits are used fresh, for preparing desserts, jams, roasting, or obtaining chestnut flour.
