The tree is characterized by strong growth and a semi-upright crown, with buds opening at mid-late times. Flowering begins late, male inflorescences have long stamens.
Marron-type fruits do not have internal partitions in the kernel. They ripen in mid-late periods over a short time interval. The skin color varies from chestnut-brown to reddish-brown.
The variety is used as an effective pollinator for other chestnut varieties. Being a local French variety, it is adapted to the climatic conditions of the region of origin.
