The variety belongs to the very late maturity group. The fruits are characterized as large and undivided, which corresponds to the classification of high-quality single-seeded fruits of the «marron» type.

During maturation, the fruits fall mainly within the spiny husk (cupule), which requires daily harvesting to prevent spoilage by pests and diseases. As a traditional variety, it is susceptible to specific diseases of Castanea sativa.
