The Marissard variety is an interspecific hybrid with moderate vigor and an upright, semi-erect, spreading crown. Mature trees reach a height of 12 to 18 meters. The variety possesses genetic resistance to Phytophthora root rot and partial resistance to bark necrosis, and also adapts well to hot climates.

The plant is pollen-sterile and requires cross-pollination, for which the Belle Epine and Maraval varieties are suitable. The variety is characterized by a mid-late fruit ripening period. The nuts belong to the Marron class, are large or very large in size, possess high flavor qualities, and are easy to peel, which allows for their use fresh or for culinary purposes.
