The tree reaches a height of 8–12 meters and has a rounded or cone-shaped crown with dark green lanceolate leaves. The variety is precocious; grafted specimens begin to bear fruit in the fifth year.

The fruits are large, sweet, and tender; a distinctive feature is the formation of one large nut in a prickly husk instead of several small ones. The variety belongs to the mid-season maturity group with harvest in September and is self-fertile.

The plant possesses winter hardiness corresponding to USDA zone 5. Grafting onto resistant rootstocks helps reduce susceptibility to diseases, including Phytophthora. The fruits are suitable for consumption in roasted or boiled form, as well as for processing.
