The tree has a compact or dense canopy, the surface of annual shoots is smooth, and thorns are absent or do not persist. The fruits have a firm, slightly rough peel of yellow or orange color and a bittersweet orange-colored pulp.

The variety is highly productive and widely used both for fresh consumption and for juice processing. There are many clonal selections that differ in ripening time and adaptability. Due to susceptibility to the tristeza virus, immunized clones are used in commercial cultivation.
