The plant reaches a height of 10–20 cm with a crown width of up to 30 cm. It has evergreen needle-like foliage of dark green color. The flowers have a clear pink or ruby-pink shade; the flowering period lasts from December or January to March or April.
The variety possesses high winter hardiness, corresponding to USDA zones 5a–9b. The crop is capable of growing in both slightly acidic and slightly alkaline soils. The plant requires protection from waterlogging and standing water to prevent root rot.
