Variety description

The plant has a compact, dense, and upright growth habit. The bush height is 10–20 cm, diameter reaches 30–45 cm. The foliage is dark green, needle-like. The variety was obtained by selection from seedlings of the Myretoun Ruby cultivar.
The purple-red flowers open in the period from January to April. The shrub is characterized by winter hardiness and the ability to grow in soils with different pH levels, although it prefers well-drained slightly acidic soils. The plant is not prone to spreading.
The variety is used in ornamental gardening as a ground cover plant for rock gardens, borders, mass plantings, and container cultivation. It possesses melliferous properties.
