The variety is a low-growing spreading shrub 10–15 cm in height, capable of spreading to 30–45 cm in width. The evergreen needle-like foliage has a dark bronze-green hue. Bright pink bell-shaped flowers are gathered in racemose inflorescences.
The plant belongs to the winter-flowering group; the flowering period lasts from January to May. The variety possesses winter hardiness and resistance to urban conditions, although it is prone to chlorosis in alkaline soils. Used as a groundcover crop for rock gardens, heather gardens, and container gardening.
