The Snow Star variety is a natural mutation of the White Anne Fittonia. The plant has a compact habit, typical of modern breeding forms, and reaches a height of about 10 cm in pot culture.

The appearance of the variety is characterized by small leaves with a white coloration and a bright green mosaic pattern of veins. Due to its moisture-loving nature and small size, the plant is often used for growing in terrariums and florariums.

In modern botanical classification, the variety belongs to the species Fittonia albivenis, although the name Fittonia verschaffeltii is sometimes erroneously applied to it in trade nomenclature.
